art
working improvisationally when cutting, piecing and collaging, clues are taken
from the marking and colors in the fabric. they are like little maps or guides
to the next piece of fabric. pieces are then layered with batting and
a backing before being machine quilted. embellishment...beads, buttons, sticks
and stiches are added for color. using each of these steps in the creative process,
i am constantly reassessing and tweaking my pieces. even ironing can change the
movement of a piece which adds to my surprise, acceptance and growth as i play with color.
